We make a handful of wines here at Eminence – all grown on our vineyard and released under three different labels: The Le Peche Mignon range (which translates as The Guilty Pleasure) is all about delicious, easy drinking wines which punch well above their weight in terms of value for money. The Eminence range is reserved for wines which we think are a bit fancy and deserve to be celebrated. And speaking of celebration, we release our sparkling under The Assembly label – a nod to the work gone into blending these wines throughout the winemaking process.

[SOLD OUT!] 2015 LE PECHE MIGNON PINOT GRIGIO
…Lazy afternoons in the sunshine; extravagant dinner parties; soft centred French cheese…the 2015 Le Peche Mignon Pinot Grigio is all about life’s little guilty pleasures
The near-perfect 2015 season created an incredible acid/flavour balance – where we get good flavour development but still that trademark fine, springy acid. This a fabulous little wine – with whimsical mixed bag of citrus, floral and pear aromatics. The palate is dry but fruit driven, light, fresh and beautifully textured. Positively demands weekends, sunshine, Caprese salad, oysters and great company.

[SOLD OUT!] 2015 EMINENCE LE PECHE MIGNON PINOT MEUNIER ROSE (Dry)
…Ice cream out of the tub; Italian leather shoes; midweek sleepins…the 2013 Le Peche Mignon Rose is all life’s little guilty pleasures.
[I’m pretty certain this is the best rose we’ve ever made so if you’ve never tried it, get in before it sells out! – Clare]
This grapes for this wine are 50% Pinot Meunier, and 50% Pinot Noir, grown on our vineyard in Whitlands. The grapes were handpicked, gently pressed and left on skins overnight to extract the lovely salmon pink colour. Fermented to dryness, this wine is finely textured, light hearted, with lots of gorgeous strawberry cream, red cherry, violet characters with a hint of ginger. Drink on a balcony somewhere!

BACK VINTAGE RELEASE – 2009 EMINENCE CHARDONNAY
We've got about 10 dozen left of this incredible wine – its rich & compelling, the bottle age has rounded out all the flavours and the whole package is so bloody satisfying I'll be sad to see it go. The 2009 was wild yeast, barrel fermented, lee's stirred with partial MLF: It's wine has seen its fair share of winemaking. As it should, however, the secondary characters are tightly woven around a core of pure, pristine fruit and linear acidity – creating a wine which truly represents the best of winemaking and site influence.
It's got loads of flavour – toasty oak & toffee, yellow peach & brioche type flavours yet the overall impression is more about the refined texture, richness and length – with great balanced acidity and persistence of flavour. Distinctly Chardonnay and altogether rather decadent.
2012 VINTAGE SPARKLING: THE ASSEMBLY
This wine is indeed an Assembly: the individual parcels of fruit, the blending after the first ferment, the blending of the dose prior to disgorging – not to mention the amount of people who came together to help me bring this wine out into the world. An incredible effort over the last four years. A heartfelt thanks to everyone involved – this is the most exciting wine to date.
This wine is made entirely from 2012 fruit grown on our vineyard and has spent 41 months on lees. The fruit was handpicked and fermented in old pinot noir barrels with wild yeast; a couple of barrels went through malo. The base wines were blended to 60% Chardonnay, 30% Pinot Noir & 10% Pinot Meunier and dosed with 5 grams per litre.
The finished wine is light gold in colour, and shows an incredibly persistent bead. Beautifully aromatic, with apple, white peach, toasty caramel, brioche crust & a soft walnut note. The palate is fine yet flavoursome – it has real presence but the Chardonnay drive keeps it all in check: toasty biscuit character (almost like gingerbread) , more of those lovely fruit notes, creamy nougat, and a soft resinous flavour. Its generous yet still quite tense, with fine acid and a compelling finish. To be honest, we think it’s pretty posh, and worth every penny. Open cold, but let it warm up to get the full story!
2015 LE PECHE MIGNON PINOT NOIR
Our Le Peche Mignon range is all about good times, great wines and midweek frivolity! Like curling up in front of an open fire with a great book and a slab of dark chocolate, the 2015 Le Peche Mignon Pinot Noir is all about life’s little guilty pleasures. Perfumed, supple and preposterously drinkable, the 2015 shows loads of raspberry & red fruit with a hint of savoury spice from 8 months barrel age. Drinking well now until 2018.
2015 was a stellar year for Pinot Noir and this wine is made solely from MV6 clone grapes, which were hand-picked and open fermented with wild yeast. This little beauty is aged in Seguin Moreau French oak for 8 months, giving the wine time to integrate without giving too much oak character. A great value Pinot Noir, made with love!
