Access and Allocation

Being part of The Good Drinks Collective means you’ll never miss out on new release allocations, special bottlings, magnums, museum releases and any other cool stuff we make or find hidden away in the back of the winery.

Enjoy our Wine Concierge

Our wine concierge service is personalised wine advice to help you navigate the complicated world of wine stores and wine lists. Perhaps you need a recommendation for a special bottle to gift, or something to cellar? Email us anytime and we’ll lend our expertise

Free Delivery

Avoid those pesky delivery fees forever! As the cost of freight goes through the roof, we want to assure you that freight will be free forever and always. And later in 2022, we’ll be adding an option too to offset delivery emissions also. Smiles all round 🙂

Easy Gifting

Who doesn’t love a drinkable gift? Collective members can upgrade any subscription pack or standard wine order to be sent as a gift. This includes a hand-written note, fancy packaging and more warm-fuzzies than you can fit in your average wine box.

Flexible and Customisable

Most wine clubs offer a red, white or sparkling pack but we know that more choice = more happiness. Prior to each delivery we’ll assemble a default ‘trust us’ pack, but you’ll have ample time to customise each pack to suit your preferences. On top of that, you can cancel, reschedule or gift any delivery, any time.

VIP Event Invites

Have dinner with us! At some stage when Covid finally gives up we’ll be planning a series of tastings & dinner events around Australia for our trade and wine club members. We’ll invite other producers along so it’s more interesting, and ply you with great wine and mildly funny anecdotes about agricultural living. What an offer…

Not-Shit Tasting Notes

Why the wine industry perseveres with unintelligible, overworked tasting notes is anyone’s guess but we’ll do our best to do better. The Good Drinks Collective packs will include actually useful, easy to understand wine descriptions and food matching ideas to help you confidently navigate your next dinner party.

Support Small Business

We’re a small, family owned regional  business and even though we have wholesale accounts, we genuinely couldn’t exist without our website and wine club customers. We do our best to pay it forward too by choosing suppliers who, like us, love what they do and contribute positive things to the industry.

The Good Drinks Collective FAQ’s

Who is the Good Drinks Collective for?

The Good Drinks Collective is our way of rewarding our most loyal customers. If you think you’ll buy at least a dozen a year, it’s a no brainer – free delivery, discounts and all the other good stuff.  If you’re just passing through and tend not to buy from the same wine producer twice, then we’re delighted you stopped by and we hope you enjoy the wines 🙂

How do the discounts work?

In short, the more you buy, the more you save. 4 bottle GDC packs attract a 5% discount, 6 bottle GDC packs attract a 10% discount and 12 bottle GDC packs attract a 15% discount. If you need to stock up in between wine club deliveries, any extra orders are also discounted. These rates are based on each individual order, not your membership level: So, 5% off on 1-5 bottles, 10% off for 6-11 bottles and 15% off for 12 bottles or more.  So if you normally get a 4 pack through the Good Drinks Collective, but you buy a dozen for a special occasion, this will attract 15% off. The software that we use works it all out for you so you can just login and go for it. Heaps easy right!

What if I change my mind?

We want the Good Drinks Collective to improve your life, not stress you out. You can cancel, postpone,  skip or gift any delivery at any time, just login and update your details prior to the delivery being sent out.

If I really like just one or two wines, can I just have those?

100% yes. Each pack is totally customisable to your preferences. For example, if you want 36 bottles of pinot noir a year then that’s totally cool with us. For those who don’t want to choose, we’ll assemble a ‘trust-us’ pack, and you’ll receive an email prior to dispatch where you’ll have ample opportunity to change or accept the selection.

Events and free tasting stock: a discussion

Events and free tasting stock: a discussion

A chat with a fellow producer recently veered into total taboo territory: should wine producers provide free wine at tastings at events, in exchange for the value offered by the event organisers? My friend made an interesting point: no one ever asks a restaurant to provide free food (other than some low rent food bloggers), so why is it still normal to expect wineries to cover the costs & time involved?

Why we’re publishing our winemaking specs

Why we’re publishing our winemaking specs

Winemaking, compared to other food processing enjoys almost no labelling regulation. Maybe it’s lobbying. Maybe it’s the established practice not being questioned. Maybe it’s because our inherent assumption is that wine brands are honest and that wine is sophisticated and therefore good. Whatever it is, I think it’s bullshit because it creates vacuums where the information that ends up filling the gaps evolves slowly into unquestioned facts.

Winesplainer: Prosecco V méthode champenoise

Given we’re located in the King Valley, but we don’t make Prosecco, this little explainer might help clarify a few points about how these wines are different. It’s worth noting here that one is not better than the other – that is something that only the drinker can decide, not the producer.
